The only problem with this is that for the last two years, these better OOC games have been played at a neutral site...not Tiger Stadium.

That changes next season though when UDub comes to town.

Bad comparison, considering that the top tier hs teams often destroy their same classification opponents by 50 points... and HSs do schedules lower classification teams as warm-up games, often picking teams that run a similar offense to one that they will play in district.

I was referring to the talent discrepancy moreso than classification but UL is also a Div I-A school. Given that, I'd say it wasn't such a bad comparison even by your terms. LSU has beat in conference opponents by 50 (and right at it) also. Difference being we have no choice with in-conference games.

You misread my post. Maybe I wasn't clear. Unless you think that would be comparable to Jr's & Sr's playing against 7th & 8th graders?

I may be wrong but seem to remember that being more us than other teams in that we wouldn't agree to a home & away but Miles has come a long way since he said he didn't want any strong OOC games scheduled (not in those words exactly and a few years ago).

Do you remember for certain? Help me out bytch.

No, I think for 'quality' opponents it isn't a problem to LSU to schedule h&h. It's teams like USM and other mid majors that we won't schedule h&h with.

I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think we've had h&h with UDub, Arizona, maybe Arizona St, and VT. For a while though, we didn't schedule h&h, and the reasoning was because when we went to 8 conference games, it was not to our advantage because we didn't have enough home games. That line of thought has changed now, it seems, since now we don't have nearly ENOUGH home games IMO.

Like I said, I may be wrong about one of the arizonas, but the rest, we have done h&h with...with UDub completing theirs with us next year.

I do believe we backed out of the TAMU series due to that fact, although they'll contend it's because they were kicking our arses....lol.

    Thanks.

I got in a debate with some USC fans the other day cause I told them I don't think an LSU/USC OOC game on our schedule would be NEAR as close to what it would have 3 years ago.

They refuse to believe me but I feel like they're insignificant right now and would be a game I'd look forward to, like I do Oregon, but nothing off the chain like they felt.

    What say you?

    You're right. Our secondary sucks...

If you personally witnessed Reuben Randle get obliterated by a falling meteor the size of a house, but then heard Miles say he's "knicked up", would you believe Miles? Because basically, you're putting an awful lot of trust in some numbers Miles quoted from the top of his head after the scrimmage. Not saying Miles is 'lying', but neither you nor I know exactly what happened. Nor do we know what the situations were in the scrimmage. This is like saying your pitching must suck because in practice, they were running situations with a runner on second, and a coach with a fungo bat was able to plate the runner 12 out of 30 tries on hits to the outfield. :yelwink2:

Listen to things that BHelm says, because he's probably the only one with any inside knowledge on this site.

BHelm, does our secondary suck??

FWIW, the only DB I heard ANYTHING bad about yesterday was Simon, and even that was blown out of proportion from the people I talked to. Shepard got past him on one and he was overthrown. Shep then got around him on another and scored a long TD.

Good job Shep is what I say.

I had dinner last night with one of Tahj J's HS coaches. I specifically asked about Tahj. He said TJ amazed him with what he saw, did on the field. Said he had an unexplainable command of knowing what was going on and reading defenses. I told him TJ came to LSU at a time that our secondary is absolutely sic and it won't be easy for some to sniff any PT.

Anyone hear if he played much?
