yeah since this staff has lost SO many games to unranked teams.... :rolleye33:

I'll take a loss to unranked Arkansas followed by an SEC championship and :crystal: every year.

Does anybody have a list of the e-mail addresses of the LSU Board of Supervisers as I will be sending out a letter to each member of the board expressing my disapproval of the amount of the increases.

To the person that stated just look at other schools and what they charge, I don't give a flip. I am an alum from LSU. The fans are what makes LSU's Tiger Stadium what it is. You keep pricing out the common fans of LSU we'll wind up like Notre Dame. A very overhyped stadium with fans that do not give LSU the home field advantage that it has. LSU has officially stated that they do not take any money for athletics from the state or the university itself. This means that right now LSU is making money on what they already were charging. LSU even with buying out Brady and hiring a good basketball coach will not increase the cost as dramatically over the next 3 years as Bertman wants to do. Neither will giving CLM the contract that he deserves along with his assistants. Even inflation will not add together to approximately a 40% increase across the board for the entire stadium. If LSU was actually losing money etc.. then it could possibly be more justified, but when athletics is making a profit and donating it to the university this increase is a crock.

I think what a lot of you are missing is that the increase will take place over the next few seasons until 2010. Sure, anytime it costs you more money to attend an event in which you absolutely LOVE going to, it hurts.

...but if we WANT to keep experiencing the same success that we have been, you need to understand that these increases are necessary dispite not really liking it.

And know this: 'Bama, Tennessee and Florida charge MORE than we do. That much was stated in The Advocate this morning.

"with great success, comes great responsibility"

Well then I guess you should just start preparing yourself for it because, like it or not, it will happen.

And as for the Notre Dame comment...if you "don't give a flip" about others schools that charge more, you shouldn't "give a flip" about Notre Dame...after all, aren't you an LSU alumni??

Relax, they won't keep increasing ticket prices if they start seeing such a dramatic decrease in attendence.

I think what YOU are missing is that LSU is already making money with the program along with all of the other athletic programs and claim the increase is for inflation and coaching costs. Inflation in the United States will not double by 2010.

Weight rooms, athlete academic support center, etc. we already have the best in the country and can upgrade a little bit. No overhaul needed. I have already stated coaching salaries for Les and his assistants will be going up as they have earned the increase in pay, but the increase isn't enough to double the TAF "donations". End result, do a smaller increase that will roughly increase the profits of football for about 5 to 7% to deal with inflation and the coaching pay increases. Leave the rest behind.

I agree with that. I thought you were complaining about ANY increase.

As much as I would love to have no increase, I already know that is not practical. I even said on the original post that yes LSU does have an increase coming, but my beef is that it is way too extreme. I thought I had made it clear early on that I was fine with a small raise to deal with the inflation, but that would explain a few things on why you were disagreeing with the other posts I had made.

Yeah, guess I read through your original post a little too quickly and missed it.

    My bad. ;)
