Love the strawman arguments here; Boise doesn't deserve a title shot because Tulane didn't deserve one in 1999? LOL, ok.

They have neither the talent, nor the depth. Don't kid yourself.

Sure they can beat any team in America...once. Hell, ULM beat Bama. Friggin' Jacksonville St. beat Ole Miss. Let's put them in the SEC, since clearly they're good enough. :rolleye33:

They don't deserve a title shot because THEY DON'T PLAY ANYONE!!! Good Lord!

I don't understand YOU saying they DO deserve a shot, because on a given day, they CAN beat anyone. So what! Body of work. Anyone can beat anyone on a given day.

Well, it's not entirely their fault they don't play anyone. Unless you think AQ schools are beating down the door to play Boise?

I say give them a title shot, let them prove once and for all whether or not they can hang. You guys are overblowing the schedule. All they can do is dominate whoever they play. They manhandled Oregon last year, and the Ducks went on to win the Pac-10 and go 10-2 in the regular season. Somehow, that's not valid. They dominated Virginia Tech this year, and after losing to James Madison (further proof of parity), the Hokies have proceeded to reel off 7 straight wins are are poised to be ACC champs.

So, in back to back years, Boise State will have dominated a BCS conference champion, and still has to face questions over their legitimacy. It's ludicrous, IMO.

Boise doesn't deserve a title shot because they don't play competition on a regular basis. It's that simple. I don't care how many points they beat Hawaii by.

You sure use the word "dominated" loosely. Did you even watch the BSU/VT game? VT blew it at the end! They weren't "dominated". I guess by your standard, LSU dominated Tennessee?

And in both years, it's the only real competition they played until the bowl game. And even then, last year, they played another wannabe in a BCS bowl.

I guess you don't remember the experts saying last year, "If they get past Oregon, they'll likely be undefeated", and the same this year with VT. I'm sorry, but if you can't understand that ONE game in the beginning of the season is NOT a body of work, I don't know what else to say. We'll have to agree to disagree.

At least we agree on most things LSU. :thumb:

The computers understand that with LSU at #2, I think. It's the human polls that arent' cooperating, and that's why the way teams win gets factored in. And there are all kinds of factors that go into that, humans being what they are. I'm an LSU fan, and it's hard not to want to see unbeaten Boise and TCU get their chance.

Think of how great a 16 team tournament would be this year. Instead of 34 putrid bowl games, and 1 that means something. Look at the Orange Bowl for Chrissakes. You think those people want Va. Tech and whatever dog wins the Big East again? But what does that tell you? As long as the Orange Bowl makes a pile of money, they don't really give a damn who plays.

And money is what the BCS is all about.

They supposedly try to but no one wants to play them.

    I tend to believe that.

You see Alabama or LSU knocking down Boise's door to schedule them? Hell no.

I don't think there is any validity to that, teams are willing to play Boise on neutral turf, but don't want to do a home and home. Why would you want to go up there and play on that smurf turf? What do you have to gain? Nothing. So Boise needs to just accept the fact that no one wants to travel up there, so they need to do what they can and schedule neutral site games against teams from Power Conferences.

Good posting. If we ever want to see a playoff, the best thing that that could possibly happen would be Boise or TCU to get in the game and win it. I will be rooting strongly for Boise or TCU over any team not named LSU.

I want LSU to win the SEC and if they do that, I think a one loss SEC team could and probably should end up in the title game. However, a one loss LSU team who doesn't win their division shouldn't jump over an undefeated Boise or TCU. Patently unfair and it will make an already irrelevant BCS a complete farce.
