You posted too late to see it, but at the time, Izzy had under his name 'Just Beat Bama', so that's what I was talking about. He has since changed it to something about Miles outcoaching Saban.
I hope you're right... Just don't see it. Cam having potential heisman hype at that point too. All of it is speculation at this point, but I think it'd take auburn losing in the seccg (after losing to bama obv)... Which would put a slight dent in our SOS in the computers. We still probably would need some help to keep a Boise/TCU out... Perception is we "really" lost to UT and squeaked by florida (if people think about the fake FG... And win with 0:06) Will polls say no one deserves it, so let's just give Boise their shot after winning 25~ straight?? Will they say SEC has dominated, so give the highest ranked SEC team the spot?? Let the computers settle it?? As much as we all hate the system it does make cfb interesting to discuss with all of the what ifs. When the smoke clears we've beat the two teams that most of us predicted as losses, so I'm happy! Now let's not get complacent and ignore the upcoming games... Take care of the next few weeks first, Then we can plead our case.
Izzy, do me a favor. Please. For the love of god, do not put odds on anything. At all. Period. Not if someone is holding a gun to your head. Tia.
Yeah, all good points. What is particularly frustrating is when you really break down our schedule, irrespective of how impressive our wins have been. I may not have the following exactly right, but, by my memory, we beat then ranked #19 UNC, #21 WVU, #7 FLA, #6 ALA, presently ranked top 20 MSU, and our loss is by one TD to #4 AUB who then became #1 then #2 (did I leave out any?). Nobody in the top 5 has played that schedule, and yet, b/c we do not win impressively, just win, and the other teams win against a much less formidable schedule, but look better doing it, they end up higher. Ugh! I guess one way to look at it is that we are the top rated one loss team overall, and that is probably fair.
LSU 6th in both Coaches and Harris polls.....we will be 5 in the BCS due to our computer rankings....JMHO:lsup: NCAA Polls - College Football Harris Top 25 Poll - FOX Sports on MSN
there is no official quality win or style points. however, the human voters always seem to react to winning big.
Definitely not jumping an undefeated TCU. With the human polls out today, we're likely not going to jump Boise State unless we beat the heck out of Arkansas and somehow Auburn loses twice, we go to the SEC CG and beat the heck out of a red hot Florida team, ranked in the top 15. That's too much to ask for. We must hope for Nevada to upset Boise State. Then all bets are off, we would have a real shot.
