The Capitol Area Tigers have a dinner one week before signing day (Jan. 29th), we have a table reserved. I have one extra seat, PM me if you want in. The Recruiting Dinner will start at 6 pm. A number of speakers will discuss the upcoming signing class. Drusilla Seafood. We have attended the last few years and have enjoyed.

Never been super positive about much regarding recruiting, not sure where that is coming from.

I think Kelly, Valentine, and Dupre are our best bets come NSD.

With Gage it looks like he may get that offer this weekend as well. WR Emmanuel Porter also visiting this weekend might put LSU in the lead over TCU.

I see Adoree at USC, Carter at UGA but still my hopeful surprise pick, McDowell to MSU.

Speaks is going to come down to wire. Not sure where he is leaning but I would put us at 45% with Ole Miss in the lead.

Trey LMFAO is similar to Speaks but with Oregon as our biggest competition.

Kenny Young is also coming down to wire. Don't think he knows where he is leaning yet. UCLA seems to still be biggest competition. 50/50 IMO.

Clark may be 50/50 to stay with LSU or go to Oklahoma to stay close to family during tough time. This one comes down to the final talk with family ironing things out.

Thanks @bhelmLSU , I guess about what I expected. I guess it's just me but outside of buga it doesn't seem like a lot of razzle dazzle. You guru's seem to like the class so I guess we just see how it plays out.

I'm still officially on record as the class being a disappointment if it ends up finishing 7th or 8th as I predict. Only because of the potential it once had. But once you get past that, it's a strong class.

I agree with all of Bhelm's predictions, with the biggest worry being Dupre and FSU possibly snatching him away.

NSD is going to be interesting, more so this year than any year I can remember.

Well, we are #4 w/only 18 commits, so I think we end up better than that considering we have a bit more room to add, and some top recruits in limbo. Admittedly, I don't follow it as close as you, so I am sure you have more credible insight.

Dupre is the key to us finishing top 5. If we miss on him, then there is no chance we hold on to the top 5.

I guess I saw that on espn's college football site. I am not sure about Rivals. To be honest, Rivals seems to favor Bama so much, I have been less interested in following them. ESPNs player rankings seem reasonable to me, and they have us at #4 overall w/only 18 players committed, with more than 5 less commits than the teams above us (ALA, A&M, FSU). Tenn is #5 w/33 players, in that ranking.

And if we finish out without cream of the crop (according to recruiting service x), we drop in average rating per recruit. Being rated high with less recruits isn't necessarily good in respect to final rating.
