he is right, if we dont land a few names, this class wont be consider a bust, but it will be very underwhelming, however, we have some great players in this class. We really missed on the offensive and defensive lines. Next class this will be a must.
As always, it's who you get on signing day, all to often this staff has a name that kind of shocks the fans. The staff is doing their part. Once again, some kids, you are better off not signing, in this class, I see a little more than usual. Hope this is not a trend. As always, wish them the best, an move on. Oh to add, you haven't missed on much, till signing day. At that time a somewhat evaluation should be done. Following this for years, you'll see one service rank a team 2nd and another 8th, same team, same class. If you finish in the top 10, you've started well. Better to rank a class after around 4 years. You'll get a better feel as to how players worked out in your system. Keeping La'el and Hilliard were two main gets in this class. Turner loss won't be felt as much. Collins would have had a domino effect. A good chance to really have depth on the OL this year.
LSU has moved up to #3 on 247sports' composite ranking (player rankings taken from all the prominent ranking services as a composite average). 1.. Alabama..............24.4 14 ..6 93.22 308.59 2.. Guess you didn't get the message, LSU is doing real bad in recruiting this year. Looking at a few other recruiting sites, we are once again right in the pack. Looks like the new unnamed OL coach has hit the ground running. The recruits are taking a liking to him. This class is gonna end up just fine.
Considering that one of the big 5 we didn't get is in big trouble at Bama, and one of the other kids is from that anti-LSU home (mother be damned), then Noil is probably the only real disappointment as far as the misses go. Malachi Dupre would help heal those wounds fast, however. Dupre much more important to this class than Noil. I think if we can hit on Dupre, 2 out of Valentine, Speaks, LMFAO or Dwight and the OT Kelly, the rest is lagniappe. And the lagniappe might be a full meal with the likes of Carter, Jackson and Young.
you know, i'm reading in the Trey Quinn thread about being under the radar. I think for early commits who seem solid, we tend to forget about them a bit, while we are focused on who's still out there. I feel the same about TUpchurch, too. I think that guy will be an under the radar player, too, that folks are forgetting about w/MDupre still out there.
Carter is highest on my wish list and probably the least likely of all those you listed. I think he's going to be special.
