Valentine might either be taken off the "Target" list, or if you leave him on there, mention that he is now committed to U of Miami. In a related story, Michael Johnson is a genuine target for LSU. Although currently committed to Louisville, 100% of the Crystal Ball predictions have him going to LSU. A lot depends on how he camps this month at LSU.
Donnie Alexander, listed as OLB, is playing free safety in summer 7on7 and says he will play free safety during his senior year at Edna Karr H.S. Should be interesting to see if/when he gets reclassified by the recruiting services and how this development could affect the position(s) he might play at LSU. http://highschoolsports.nola.com/player/donnie-alexander/
I forgot to mention that Johnson and Valentine attend the same high school and would like to play college ball together. So there is less appeal, I think, in getting Johnson in order to get Valentine, too, because Valentine has now committed to Miami. Johnson, however, is 6'3" and is seen as a hybrid player -- can play CB and/or S. LSU likes his measurables and the potential payoff of getting other south Florida prospects. I don't know if my other post, in regard to Donnie Alexander switching to free safety, might affect (or NOT affect) the recruitment of other safety prospects.
Updated the percentages predicting LSU. Now have 10 of our targets at 90 % or better, with 7 of those at over 95 %. Brandon Harris trending upward from 67 % to 76 % over the past couple of weeks, with his announcement coming a week from now.
Updated the 24/7 Composite Rankings. If LSU were to get all 15 of their high profile targets, we would end up with the following ranked players: 1 1 JUCO 4 10 18 26 27 31 35 51 79 86 90 102 121 143 153 154 212 239 245 246 273 316 517 549 Potentially 23 of the 26 could be in the top 250, as Upchurch is certainly going to get bumps later on down the line (currently ranked at a 273 composite). Even John Battle at 517 could get close to the top 250 as he is way undervalued by the recruiting services and will inevitably be bumped in a significant way.
Harris now up from 79% to 83%, just within the past 30 minutes Should be well over 90 % by the time he announces Thursday
12 kids now at least 83 % LSU That would put us at 24 recruits, if we get them all. Pretty impressive. Then it's Noil and hopefully Robinson to get us to 26. Then an extra TE most likely.
