Truly, no offense meant toward you in particular, but the fan base has made every "blown opportunity" that game all over again. As you have indicated before, being based on the decisions of 17 and 18 y.o. kids forces the recruiting process to be an unbridled mess at all schools. Those "experts" have only one goal in mind and that is to increase number of eyeballs looking at them. I have to view today as a good day where we picked up two additional five star recruits. Seems to me that to view recruiting any other way sets up unrealistic expectations with the inevitable sense of failure when they don't pan out.
I'd like your take on this one, could you give us the more needed positions in this years class? Thanks for all you do on this board. I see RB as the first with LF and Williams filling the spots, this helps. Wouldn't be shocked to see another RB/Ath signed in this class.
It's certainly your purview and appreciate the comments. And I don't care that the experts got it wrong. They are good at that, although today was an epic failure. What bothers me is not getting Brown, who's sister is running track at LSU (now we see her today yelling "Roll Tide" on national TV, good fucking grief). Talk about shitting on a program. We don't get Noil, who is the goddamn nephew of Frank Wilson. I mean I don't think I need to spell that one out. Then Willis says he is tied to Noil, who we can't pull in to seal the deal apparently. And now Willis is going to a shithole in Gainesville coming off a 5-7 record and whose headcoach is on the verge of getting fired if they don't win at least 8 games next year (which probably won't happen).
We'll always be good at running back, as we should be with Les Miles as head coach. It's what we do best. You don't ever want to lose an elite corner (Brown). And then to lose him to Bama, wow. That one is a double fucked. If we get Dupre, we're set at WR. So Noil is pretty much whatever. We really can't afford to lose Willis. We only have one DT in this class and Valentine is far from guaranteed. We only recruited 1 DT last class. This is a major issue. Freak's leaving and Ego might not be far behind. We have major issues here.
