As horrible a day as we had today based on expectations: LSU's rankings #5 on 247 #6 on ESPN #6 on Rivals If we only get Dupre (crossed fingers) then I think that alone keeps us in the top 10. We'd have to reel in 3 or 4 more higher profile players to stay in the top 5.
Come on, Iststl, try to be positive. We got the number 1 player's verbal to give us a total of THREE 5*s, and it's only a day of declaration, not signing. I know it wasn't quite what was expected, but that's what I keep tell you all, it's about expectations. If they are realistic, then you won't be as disappointed.
Thats still a strong recruiting class, but that still doesn't soothe the sting from big time in state losses and suposed big time locks going elsewhere.
I appreciate your unbridled enthusiasm. But we shit the bed today. Expectations were that we would get all 5 and the Under Armour game would be a big marketing bonanza for LSU football. That's not based on me, that's based on the recruiting experts who HEAVILY favored all 5 of these kids to LSU, all with at least 74 % voting for LSU. We blew a prime opportunity. It was the 21-0 NC game all over again. A blown opportunity.
I keep hearing that all 5 told the LSU coaches they were all LSU...as late as last night. I don't mind kids choosing out of state, but lying is a serious character flaw. Nothing worse than liars and thieves. Has anyone else heard this?
Hell, I'm the eternal optimist and today disappointed me. I didn't think we'd get Speedy, was hopeful we'd get Brown and was sure we'd get Willis. The Dline man from Covington might be back in play now, and now I'm really hoping we get Valentine.
