It was obvious toward the end of the game who was in better physical condition. Bama was fading fast toward the end of the game. The tough pre-season conditioning to get ready for Oregon is still paying dividends. Hope Moffit and Miles follow the same regimen every season.
I have to agree. It seemed as the second half went on, our D line was imposing its will on the great Alabama O-line and we were starting to have a little success running the ball. And in overtime, our D blew up their O and our O could have scored a TD if necessary. We had taken the game over by the overtime period.
Dandy Don had an article about LSU's conditioning (in prep for the Oregon game) from the WSJ on his site a few weeks ago. It's and excellent read. LSU Tigers: The Defense That Went to Fat Camp - WSJ.com
I may be wrong but I dont think it was conditioning. LSU made good adjustments on D to shut them down better in the second half. The OT was just a part of a dropped pass by Richardson and then a missed passed attempt to Richardson. LSU then took advantage of the situation.
Our depth was apparent to anyone who had watched LSU all year, which makes it crazy how some "experts" were giving that advantage to Bama. CLM was able to keep rotating in players keeping our guys fresh, and Bama wore down.
