Regardless of what we as fans, other team fans, ESPN analysts, et al think, the players have to be behind him for the team to be effective. This shows that they are. It makes me feel a little more confidant going into the Swamp:lsup:
Listen, and understand. The Negatiger is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until Les is gone.
I don't know how many times I have to say this. Winning the big games against the big boys of the SEC will shut everybody up. If Les wins 2/3 against Bama, Florida and Arkansas, with Auburn being up in the air, then the positigers get to revel in their man's success and stick it to the negatigers, the negatigers will drop any and all talk about replacing Les for at least another season, and Joe Alleva will hang himself out of sheer frustration.
Starting does not equal touches. No touches = no moving up on the draft board. Ask Toliver what that's doing for his draft stock right now (as well as the drops).
Your post is not offensive to me. The verb tense was intentional. You can label me negative if you want, I feel I'm being a realist regarding the situation. Most of the so called "crap" I've been posting is my opinion and most of it supported by evidence or the NCAA rules. In your post above, you make assumptions regarding what players think or are saying without any idea of it's validity. If RS would have told you he wanted the fans to STFU and you reported such, that would be one thing, but to state what his comments "prove" because that's how YOU FEEL. That's where I disagree. I think it's great that you can ignore all the evidence from last season and 5 weeks of this season and feel we can run the table. I have seen absolutely zero indication that this is possible or probable. If it happens, then Great, I'll be glad to admit I was wrong and I'll come back and apologize and admit I was wrong to everyone. I HOPE that happens. I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again....however, I feel pretty good about my odds on this. I'll keep reading your posts though, maybe some of that "GLOW" will rub off on me.
Im not at a fan of Miles and would take a lot for me to want him here. That said, Im extremely happy to see the kids backing him up. As mentioned it goes to show how good of a person he is. The players really like him. Hopefully that unity and the players only meeting will light a fire under the players.
Agreed, and that goes for all the players. What?...Are they going to criticize or not support the guy who determines whether they play or not and also determines whether their scholarships are renewed? Of course, the players are going to speak up for him. That said, I also agree with folks who say what a great guy he is, personally. I believe that. It's pretty obvious with the way he adores his family and genuinely likes his players, but the fact remains, he is paid much moola to be the HC of a big-time college program. The same screw-ups keep happening. If it's Crowton, the it's up to Les to send him on his way and bring in a competent replacement just as he did with 'Chief'. If he does that and things get straightened out and we don't get these ridiculous 'clock management' issues anymore then, I believe, the fans will again get behind him. But, that may be asking too much.
To be fair here, Les only called the play that won the game after the penalty was called against UT. At least that was my understanding.
