Collins got screwed by all 32 teams and it cost him 9-12 million dollars. Now he is stuck with free-agent pay for 3 years. His only leverage is that he can talk to any team he wants to. Any team that wants to sign him had better be talking about just how much they plan to compensate him in his next contract. And the smart ones are showing just how deep their pockets are and how serious they are about making it up to him.
A few notes on the draft, Fla St led all teams with 11 players taken. The team that finished second may shock a few people, with 10 taken, anyone want to guess? UTx had 5 players drafted, a&m, only 2. UT had some talent, didn't show on the field.
Man can you imagine the Cowboys O line with Collins? They already have the best O line in football. Yikes.
They have some back end money that can add to his money, but like I said, rookies make 339k this year. But everyone knows, his next contract will have to be bumped up for what he lost. He will do ok. Some talk the NFL put out a word not to draft him, but you'll never get it in writing
True, more and more teams are following the Cowboys lead, you have to protect your QB. This is why every team is coming after Collins, he was a top 15 pick, many said the Dolphins wanted him with their pick. Now they have arrived in full force, former LSU players trying to sway him.
of course that word was put out, but man you talking about hurting a kid from pre judgement, i know its cya in the NFL nowadays.
So true, great kid, it was a number of errors Master, all these added up. His agent is to blame also. There is a reason most of these guys are broke less than 10 years out of the NFL. You hear of guys making M's asking to borrow money in the locker room.
