My question was really concerning the NFL rules on free agency. His agent needs to know the rulebook backwards and forwards. Does the possibility exist that if Collins played even one game in Canada or the Arena league that his status would change from undrafted free agent to simply free agent? I used the example of Warren Moon but he played in Cany for several years. At any rate that's something that Collins agent should check out if he is worth a shit as an agent. Maybe @LSUDad can ask Mike Detillier.
Only talk to Detillier once a year, at the LSU Recruiting Bash. @Bengal B, you should know this. I do catch him on talk shows every now and then.
In the Pro league in Canada, starting quarterbacks making between $250,000-$400,000. Thats the highest paid position. Anyone want to guess what former LSU player got the most awards in the CFL?
Nope, this guy could put a Championship ring on every finger and still have a bunch more sitting around. Hes a member of the Canadian HOF and the Louisiana HOF.
But what if Collins played one game in the CFL? Would the NFL them consider him an unrestricted free agent instead of an undrafted free agent? Might be a loophole to be able to get paid.
Ok, a friend just sent me a note, word is Collins could sign for 3 years and the max is 1.5M. Talking NFL
