What are they supposed to do? Clear a person that they haven't even talked to before their investigation is over just to make LSU fans happy? It makes no sense. They can't do that. No the smart thing to do was to assure the police of his cooperation an schedule a meeting in Baton Rouge after Thursday when he would have already been an first round pick. Obviously the police were in no hurry since they scheduled it for tomorrow. Then there would be all the time in the world to investigate and determine what happened to everybody's satisfaction.
I guess I missed it but how did it become public? If he wasn't a suspect he should not have been mentioned at all. In fact the police shouldn't have said anything except it was being investigated. How and why did La'el'a name come out at all?
I don't know but if lots of people knew he had been in a past relationship with the victim it would have been all over social media as soon as the story of the murder broke.
