I was thinking about several plays from this season...the fake FG against Florida, the Jefferson run (70 yards or so) for a TD, the final two plays against Tennessee, etc. but my play of the year was... Lee to Toliver against Florida for the game winning TD. That pass was beautiful! Does anyone have the video clip? Anybody have any other choice for POTY?
I concur, that is my play of the year also. My 2nd place would be the end around against Alabama with Deangelo Peterson for the 1st down, that ended up being a Stevan Ridley touchdown..
I have a nominee: The game-sealing long completion from Lee to Randle vs. Bama. Anyone who was in attendance could tell you: the entire stadium was having a heart attack knowing that the Tide were about to get the ball back, with good field position, in a three point game with plenty of time to get into field goal position or take the lead with a TD. Recall, that they had just finished a 65+ yard TD drive in a very short amount of time. There was a serious sense of dread on that 3rd and long. And then, bam.
This was one of the 3 I liked. The other two were from the same game... D. Peterson 4th down reverse.. Lee to Randle 4th quarter clutch 3rd down pass.
This. Huge. Negative play for me boils down to ONE play that altered the entire season. The 6 second bomb at the end of the half in the Arkansas game. Had that play never happened that game I believe would have ended up differently. That changed everything in literally 6 seconds.....
If you want the play of the year by an opposing team that benefitted LSU, it had to be Coach Dooley's substitution flub at the end of the Tennessee game. And I agree with TexasTigers, the 6 second meltdown was one of the worst gaffe's I have ever seen.
I agree. It was one of the biggest changes in emotions for every fan on this board. Supposedly losing the game in the most awful way possible...a time-management mistake by Les Miles again and having accepted the loss...only to have Dooley one-up us and give us another chance. Although it felt like a loss afterwards, winning the game on the last play of the game was definitely an amazing experience...
