Who has the better football program, and football players for the past decades since playing each other? Please explain your answers in great detail, and no disrespectful or bad comments! Thanks:thumb: GEAUX TIGERS!!!:tigereye:
I go with LSU. most of it is because of bias of course, but i take you back to 06 when Meyer won his first MNC. LSU was the better team that year. But, we are 4-5 against UF this decade, and we only win by small margins where UF has blown us out on occasion.
That is what I'm trying to figure out, I have seen a lot of LSU vs Florida games, and it just seems they have put big numbers on us.When we win its sometimes neck to neck with them.
2000 UF wins 41-9 2001 UF wins 44-15 Baton Rouge 2002 LSU 36-7 in Gainsville 2003 UF 19-7 (no jack hunt) 2004 LSU 24-21 Joe Addai killed UF that night, 5 turnovers and a win. 2005 LSU 21-17 2006 UF 23-10 Jamarcus fumble on the goal line, fumbled kick off, many mistakes, i feel that LSU was a much better team that year. 2007 LSU 28-25 2008 UF 51-21 The winner of the LSU Florida game has won the national championship 3 years in a row.
We win the Florida game in 2006 and things would have been very different. My friend who is an avid Florida fan, was super glad they did not have to replay us again that year. Anyway, spilt milk. I think Florida has had better seasons than us, and I think they get better athletes, maybe not better football players. And Tebow does seem to be the big difference as of late. It will be a good series over the next few years as well.
Given that LSU gets better every game, I feel LSU can really win the west this year... That said, I can see this as the year we play UF twice. kinda like 2003 with Georgia... However, we really need to start clicking like a team. Improvement each game, big or small, will be the key factor to wining the west and UF game...
I think Florida will get us this year (Hope not but likly) but they loose Tebow in 2010 and LSU will have a more seasoned team. JJ, Shepard, Randle and the defense will improve greatly next year. I feel the next few years will be a slug fest with LSU, TENN, and Bama. If CLM is holding back with all this conservative crap I may be wrong!! Wont be long we will find out. :geaux:
speaking of LSU Florida, Jamarcus Russell just threw his first touchdown of the season......... to Louis Murphy. the raiders have some weapons. holy crap, they just overturned that play under review. You have to find this play tomorrow on youtube, the officiating in the NFL is pathetic.
