Whatever happens it will all have some luck involved. Every season seems to have a wierd twist. (See our game against Florida last season.)

If LSU and Auburn both have growing pains early in the season.

LSU from the QBs and Auburn from the new offense, MSU will win the West. I can very easily see them going 5-3 or so and sneaking in if LSU and Auburn struggle.

They will not be your "older brother's Bulldogs" this year.

Tennessee will win the East. I really believe that they will sneak up on both Florida and Georgia. It won't be pretty, but I think they will get it done.

No one expects them this year. Florida and UGA are chalking that one up as a win already, but they rarely get through UT without trouble.

Nail was hit on the head!

The "automatons" support Auburn's "shot" to win the west for just these reasons.

    But you know what?

These clowns don't look at the recruiting and depth well enough. They refuse to give LSU credit for the fact that LSU athletes are a cut above Auburn's athletes. Tubberville's bunch only gets a bit of notice during our "reloading" years now. And, they're thinking about a repeat of 2004, but it won't happen BECAUSE 2004 is history and BAMA has cut a nice slice out of their RECRUITING edge that made 2004 possible.

And, if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger. Geaux, Tigers, Geaux!

LSU's brutal schedule against SEC competition (always Fla, rotate GA, TN, etc) keeps LSU at the TOP, and hardens them against the onslaught of the SEC schedule.

Auburn can have the SEC cupcakes, and LSU will be more than ready when we face them early in 2008. And, AU will go down "large" to LSU in 2008. A closer peek at Auburn's depth chart and recruiting results these past 4 years leave me convinced more than ever of Auburn's decline and the return of Alabama.

This Auburn squad is a "RUN or DIE" squad with Burns just being another RB. They are at a distinct disadvantage to LSU offensively when compared
and LSU's front seven are going to eat them alive at Auburn. If any passes are thrown, it won't equate to a consistent passing game to keep the chains moving. Interceptions will be a factor in the game. I expect a lot of 3 & out for AU's offense

I say "all the talk about AU repeating 2004 in 2008 and taking the SEC West is just empty woofing".

LSU is THE PROGRAM in the SEC.

If you don't seek help at Charter, please, seek help somewhere .....

as Red55 has stated dozens of times on this board, the two dominant teams in the West will continue to alternate as favorites based upon their alternating road schedules, ..... Auburn in the "even" years and LSU in the "odd" years.

And I don't get your statement that AU fans are "thinking about a repeat of 2004." Nowhere on any of the AU boards have I seen any reasonable AU poster claim such nonsense ...... hell, I haven't even seen that kind of thinking from the unreasonable AU posters.

Riddle me this, Lukky Lou ...... if LSU's talent has been such a "cut above" Auburn's, how do you explain the apparent balance in power in the West over the past 8-9 years? Let me guess ..... it's luck, bad officiating, the weather, a bad roux at the tailgate, ..... stuff that cut-above-athletes can't overcome, right? :nope:

Bama? Puh-leeese spare me .... the rank of your recruiting class means little if they never see the field for which they were recruited .....it's not even worth wasting the server storage space needed to discuss it.

I don't know who will win this year's LSU-AU game because, like most of the contests in recent memory, it will be another close game between two, well-matched programs ....... but I do know enough about football to respect a formidable opponent when I see one, and I definately can recognize a 7-5 Bama team when I see one. BTW, your boy Nicky will own a 2-5 record against lowly Tuberville after this season. :thumb:
