I bet they pull that Vegas line after the suspensions.

Agreed. Heck, if the game goes our way, I think LSU will cover the spread now.....just to prove a point. CLM will keep em' rollin'.

Probably the smartest post in this thread. As for those that believe AU fans are "delusional" about our chances against LSU, you haven't a clue .... pure message board drama (or at least a weak attempt at it.)

AU started the season with 72 scholarship players and the youngest tenure of any major D-I team, and by far the least-experienced team in the SEC. Nine starters will be missing for the game against LSU.

Even the most optimistic of Auburn fans isn't touching that line, regardless of the LSU suspensions. Only a fool would assume otherwise.

Considering the history of this game I would never bet on it regardless of the line. All bets off when these teams meet.

I'm not worried about the suspensions. You always want your best players on the field but our backups are 1) capable; 2) need experience; 3) will be counted on in the future so extra work now is a benefit; 4) and will hopefully keep us focused on this game and not the next.

This team is MUCH better than last year's and Auburn is not as good as last year. If you look back at last year's game I believe LSU had the better team but Cam Newton vs. Jordan Jefferson was the difference. As well as CN played and as poorly as JJ played, the game was still close and was decided by a few big plays.

The game isn't @ Auburn so we hopefully won't have to worry about any "leverage" penalties or overturned pass interference calls. :thumb:

Wouldn't matter if the game was at Auburn.

The SEC has developed a habit of protecting it's top seeds once the initial BCS rankings are released (as of last week.)

I expect LSU and bama to benefit from the officials this season, just as AU benefited last season.

Two BCS Bowl participants generate a lot more revenue for the university presidents than a single BCS participant. Simple financial-driven decision ....

Maybe...we'll see. So far it seems the majority of the calls have been in favor of Alabama and Auburn when those games are played in the state of Alabama. It's no secret where the SEC HQ is located. They have taken care of their interests by placing the baseball tournament in Hoover and replacing the Independence Bowl with the Birmingham Bowl. (Granted Shreveport is no great location but replacing it with Birmingham was a downgrade.)

Bad calls will continue as the SEC officials are probably the worst in any college sport. I can live with an occasional bad call as long as they're consistent and apply the rulings equitably. It's the mysterious calls and anomalies in Jordan-Hare and Bryant-Denny which infuriate us. I'm ALL SEC and pull for the other teams when they're not playing LSU but it's hard for me to support Auburn or Alabama when the calls are blatant.

I can't support the undefeated 2004 season without an asterisk for the crappy unsportsmanlike conduct which had never been previously called and probably hasn't been since.

They needed an excuse to give the kicker another chance...so they tossed the flag. That's BS!
