#2 (Easley I think) that plays on the defensive line is a hoss to deal with. He drove our guard four yards deep in a hurry on three plays I know of, but thank god the ball got out of McCarron's hand in time.
I agree on some of your points, but after beating Oregon, Moo U, and WVU on the road, i would say we have already passed our test, and received the #1 ranking But, I agree that our offense has not showed that it can control a game, but that may be due to the fact that Our Defense & Special teams play so well we dont need them to control a game. I too am concerned with our offense, just like evry game in the past 4 seasons. But I feel better about this offense than any other in 08, 09 & 10
Miles is going to have to get this 2 QB bug out of his panties. It's one thing to bring in a running QB on an occassion ..but it can't be part of the typical series grind. The offense is going to lose its sync if he goes back to that crap. Lee has been doing just fine. As I noted in another thread, I'm afraid his positive streak and confidence in himself are about to be history. Also .. If Shep doesn't shape up, I say ship out. Landry was doing great, and he actually CAUGHT the dang ball. I personally have never been impressed with the fella. Sure, he's got lots of "potential", but potential is not reality. If they are bent on using him, they need to find where he fits .... and it may not be at WR.
Well let me clarify. I am pleased with the way our offense has performed to date. Our defense has put our offense in great position, and the fact they have more TD's passing then they had all of last year proves we are better. BUT I still feel there are times where the play calling is somewhat predictable and worry if we truly needed a 85 yard drive to put the game away and burn up clock could we. Again its hard to complain based on the results. So I am probably nitpicking more than anything. WE are very fortunate. But LSU needs its A game on offense, dropped passes and 3 and outs wont get it done the next 4 games.
Bama beat fl just like we beat uo. Bama just went out there and beat Florida up. They physically beat the gators man to man. That's how we beat uo and how we will beat the gators. Play hard nose , punch them in the mouth football. They are already weaken from the beating bama gave them in the trenches. More of the same will win the game.
Don't know if you noticed, but on the fumble play by the freshman QB, Driskel, Upshaw bent him backwards on the play and he too suffered a sprained ankle. He was limping the rest of the ball game. In short I can't believe a lot of starch has not gone out of the gator bite. And typically how less physical teams react to getting overwhelmed and dominated, Jon Bostic should have been thrown out of that contest with his complete whiff, hay maker on Fluker.
Not so fast. Florida is loaded with talent and will make adjustments. The new guy may come on strong. Expecting to win because an opponents starting quarterback is out is a losers conclusion. Ask Oregon. LSU must take Florida seriously and take them to the woodshed. AND not take any injuries that would hurt us against Bama.
Bama is the turd in the toilet bowl. I hope we don't look past a game and lose one because bama takes up the whole scope. We need to keep the crosshairs on the next game or we can lose one.
I am a fan of JL. He has exceeded expectations this year so far. But, JL is a 5th year senior. Miles has stated JL is the starter. IF JL looses confidence because he thinks JJ is going to come in and play some, then JL needs to go sit on the far end of the bench and watch. He has been man enough to stick through thick and thin at LSU, he should be man enough to welcome the competetion again, and go out and continue to make the statement with his play that "this is my team." I think having JJ back should make him focus more. UF has some hosses on the DL and very big, active LB's. IF our OL does not do better than they did against UK, this is going to be a big test for JL to see how he handles D Linemen in his grill all day long.
