OHHHHHH KKKKKKK: Here we go AGAIN: "It is now the 4th quarter in Tiger Stadium. The sun will soon find it's home in the western sky and it will be SATURDAY NIGHT IN DEATH VALLEY"--LSU announcer Dan Borne (announcing for the LSU:Ole Miss 2010 "Saturday Afternoon in Death Valley match-up).
Yeah, I agree that the Arkansas vs. Miss. State game should be the marquee game that weekend... both of them have winning records (only 2 losses each at this point, right?), while Ole Miss is 4-5 (1-4 conference record). I guess it makes it pretty clear that LSU brings the TV ratings though, huh?
Well yeah, every fan that has a team playing at a different time than LSU watches LSU play, because they know there will be craziness one way or another every time we play.
This is true. Even ESPN's Bill Simmons, who doesn't even like college football, says he tunes in to every LSU game now because he loves the craziness. You know Verne and Gary love calling games at Tiger Stadium too.
It's all good. Day or night, this team knows what is the most important part of it all.....playing in Death Valley!
Well, despite everything else, LSU games have resulted in some great drama, we have been ranked high most of the season, and although I never cared for it, all the national and regional criticism of Les and the quarterbacks kept us on a the front page of lots of sport pages and lead paragraphs in general college football articles. Not to mention ESPN other media. That makes for a good draw for the marquee afternoon game. I agree that State and the Hogs deserve some respect, but so does LSU. ldskule:
To me that is as good as playing on Saturday Night...except, as pointed out, it WILL BE Saturday night with dusk arriving 1 hour sooner. :LSU231::geauxtige
