I agree...too many threes from WAAAAAY outside. Stringer is a 30% shooter but when he jacks up 25 footers it's one and done and the ball goes the other way. I hate a 3 point shooter who thinks they can hit every shot. It hurts the team.
They played ok defensively, and the problems on offense are correctible. This wasn't a team that got beat because of a lack of talent, they just consistently made poor decisions. Ultimately, they did not have an answer for the Ole Miss zone defense, and because they weren't able to penetrate, they settled for bad shots from outside. The bigs were as much a part of the problem as the guards. Hamilton was a total non factor, which was a big part of the whole picture. He had the ball stripped from him in the paint more than once. Rather than coiling up and powering to the basket, he just held on to the ball and let the zone collapse on top of him. Poor decisions. I think everyone agrees that he has the talent. Depth and youth is a problem, but the starting 5 are good basketball players. They will continue to get better, and if we can develop some quality depth, especially down low, this can be a very good basketball team next year. We could also use a shooter that can come in off the bench. I'm not sure if Isaac is it. Maybe Malik Morgan.
