Oregon fans aren't impressed by SEC defenses. A few of your teams every year produce really quality defenses. Most conferences get one or two, your conference gets 2 or 3, sometimes even four. That doesn't change the fact that the other 9 or 10 teams in the conference are completely average.

Nobody at Oregon expects us to put up our season average on you guys, because we know you're a solid defense. I, however, am less offended by chants that Oregon's offense will do nothing against LSU than I am by Tigers fans who seem to think Oregon's defense isn't proven. We held Auburn to 22 points. ONLY ONE TEAM in the SEC held Auburn to that many points. Tennessee moved the ball on us for the first quarter and a half and then produced nothing the rest of the game.

    All good points !

problem - that was last year and we go through this every summer before the
season this year. This year will be what we are concerned about on Sept 3rd in
Dallas as 60,000 Tigers watch our Tigers take the field.

I want to see the Ducks on the sideline while our running game takes the time off the clock. You stop our run you win the game !

That and a $1.25 will get you a cup off coffee at McDonalds, my friend. So what? You just mentioned that last years records don't mean chit. I see you are very proud of beating Tennessee, though. And you sure so steer the discussion away from the SEC rankings and records.

We also know that when Oregon last met an SEC team with a winning record it lost. of course, that don't mean chit, either.

    The Duck D ?

Do you think they can keep LSU under 200 yards rushing ?

Red --- If you are ever in Los Angeles, you can save $1.15 on your coffee at Philippes. It's the only place in LA I know of that makes a sandwich which comes close to matching a LA poorboy. Try the lamb with hot mustard. Unfortunately, no free coffee re-fills, they too cost ten cents including sales tax, but then again, I doubt if McDonalds gives free re-fills.

    Here's a link --- Breakfast

Now back to football --- 82 Days and counting.

In the past 4 years, Oregon's D has given up 127 yards per game. That's been against more than a few NFL caliber RB's.
It really all depends on the QB play. If Jefferson can keep the defense honest, then they may get it. If he can't, then no they won't.

Do you think they will? How did they stack up against good rush defenses? Four SEC teams ranked ahead on Oregon last year against the run (Auburn- 115, Alabama- 225 and South Carolina- DNP, and Miss St- 167.). Kind of a mixed bag of success. I'm sure the erratic QB play last year had something to do with that.
Senior QB's have a way of surprising people though. If LSU's bowl game in any indication, LSU's offense will be much improved for 2011.

Stats like those are misleading unless you consider the strength of the schedule. Last year, LSU played the 6th toughest schedule in the country, according to the NCAA.

    http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/2010/Internet/toughest%20schedule/fbs_9games_cumm.pdf.

    Oregon played the 59th toughest.

And it's worth noting that Oregon under Chip Kelly is 0-3 against ranked opponents in out of conference games, including 0-2 in bowl games.

As far as LSU needing to pass to win, tell that to the eleven teams we beat last year.

Overall, your post resembles, to a frightening degree, exactly what Alabama and Texas A&M fans were telling us before our games last year. Look how those turned out.

You asked if i though LSU could rush for 200 on Oregon.

I'm just telling you what Oregon's D has done against the run in the past 4 years. I'd like that if a team is historically good against the run, and can back it up with 4 years worth of stats, that you'd see that I'm not talking about 2010.

"Po-boy" is the sandwich, cuz, a poor boy is a young feller with no money.

I bookmarked Philippes for my next trip to California. I trade you Louies Cafe if you find yourself in Baton Rouge.

    I hope

I hope Oregon's defense does not have a picture of (Thomas) Jefferson on their chest
