Perhaps, and this is merely a suggestion, you should look a few things up.

I'll start with your first attribute. Take a minute and look up the teams with multiple, consecutive NC's. And for general purposes today let's just keep it in the modern day poll era.

Your second point has nothing to do with your original statement of "historically great programs."

Your third point eliminates every team in college football.

From my point of view it would have been far simpler to have said, "I let my emotions get the best of me in that post." It certainly wasn't a statement made with ample reasoning.

BTW, we must establish the definition again perhaps. ORIGINALLY, the statement was "current" historically great program. Now, all of a sudden it has evolved to "historically great program". I will AGREE that Alabama is a HISTORICALLY great program going back mainly "the Bear" years. But "current' no way. And my 3rd point did not eliminate Oklahoma I believe. You are telling me that OU didn't lose a game for almost 6 years and they were NOT ranked preseason #1? Really, you are sticking with that claim?

Go back and look at where this really came up. Tiger_fan (Page 3 of this thread BTW) simply said, "at the end of last season, some fellow LSU fan here said he thought the current Alabama program is the greatest program that college football has ever seen"

See the word "current". That was the message I responded to. Also, if I'm supposedly soooo biased why have I said umteen times that I think Alabama had the best college team last season? Sooooo, as I biased in favor of Alabama now? Am I posting with emotions in favor of Alabama?

Bama being the biggest hurdle with the game being at home, and a cupcake out of conference schedule would lead one to believe chances are pretty good to getting another shot at the SEC championship and a trip to Miami.

Any real passing game will be much more than what was had toward the end of the season. Mett and company will make this happen, and Les will still have opposing coaches scratching their heads.

I've always felt that you do your job exceedingly well.Taking exception to my point of view doesn't bother me in the least. I probably shouldn't post on a rival site if it does. Besides, I've always been able to sense a deep respect on your part for all things Crimson. I'm guessing, truth be told, there is a scripted A, somewhere in your closet.

Then I'd say that your instincts fail you miserably. Don't take up tarot card reading.

I'm left wondering if my head is spinning or you're twisting in the wind.

The bottom line is what you said, " IMO, Alabama is NOT a historically great program, not even close." That's what was questioned.

I know, right? To be fair, I guess that means Bama could still be great currently right now, or perhaps literally current historically great, just not literally historically great right now. Maybe historically pretty fuckin good, just not great, right now. literally. Right?

I left out the word "current" which I did NOT leave out in the original answer. I will repeat what I said. {from post #63} "Go back and look at where this really came up. Tiger_fan (Page 3 of this thread BTW) simply said, "at the end of last season, some fellow LSU fan here said he thought the current Alabama program is the greatest program that college football has ever seen" I was still thinking current when I typed my answer but left one that one word in the answer you quoted.
