On an ESPN college football chat Chris Low and Ted Miller believe LSU is going to have its "hands full" with Penn State's defensive front. LSU has given up an SEC-high 35 sacks and they believe that PSU definitely has the advantage there. Also say LSU offense has to show up with some consistency.

Unfortunately this is true. Fortunately the team that plays all year and the team that shows up for bowl games usually aren't the same team. Miles does get our boys ready for bowl games, given a month to prepare.

You're right, Miles and staffs have done a good job preparing for bowl games. It better be more of the same because the O-line must play well for LSU to be successful.

Miles, being the supposed "big 10" guy that he is, does not want to lose to, well, a big 10 team. the boys will be ready to play. but will it be enough?

Our O-line is going to have it's hands full, true . . . but Penn State's defensive backs are going to have theirs full, too.

The key is our quarterback. He can help his line by not taking needless sacks and getting the ball away quicker.

I also feel that finally Studrawa is playing his younger players who have loads of raw talent--Blackwell, Shaw, Lonergan, etc. The can't develop technique by not playing. And the starters will be better if they get a rest now and then.

Our O Line will dominate, Jefferson just needs to summon his pocket presence chi and everything will be ok. Alot if not most of the sacks were on Jordan Jefferson this season, not the line. 5 and 6 seconds in the pocket is an eternity, he has to know how to get rid of the ball without taking a sack and without turning it over or getting grounding called.

yep which is why it would help him to have a few different plays in mind at all time, but that comes with experience. our receivers can help jefferson by doing a better job of getting open too. an offense is so dependent on synergy and so many things have to go the right way for it to run smoothly. i think LSU, with a month or so to prepare, will be able to run like the well-oiled machine they have the capability of being.

Been to a couple of their boards and their fans seem to have just as many concerns as we do and in fact many of the same concerns. They are complaining about their vanilla offensive scheme, 3 and out offense, and weak DL. Sounds familiar?? The biggest concern they have is bad special teams play. They are VERY concerned about Trindon. Apparently their PK isn't at all consistent and they have several punts blocked. Good for us! They don't really believe in the "SEC speed" thing though. We shall see about that but they mentioned concern about our NFL level WR's. Apparently their SS went to the Laron Landry school of forget covering I want to hit somebody. Hope that's true as well.:milesmic:

Is it just me or does everyone think Trindon is this beast of a weapon except for LSU fans?

Right, and judging by the last post season performance from JJ, I am optimistic.

He was pretty beast against R-Kansas. More of that, please! :thumb:
