This is why Oregon does so well . . . they don't play a lot of contenders. Everyone in the SEC plays half a schedule of contenders.
I don't know . . . this early in the season . . . if the winner of this game wins impressively against a top-5 opponent, they could move up significantly, definitely take away a bunch of #1 points. I mean on that weekend, Oklahoma plays Tulsa and Alabama plays Kent State. They could win by 40 points and not be impressive.
Not sure you can move up "significantly" when you're at 3 & 4 but it won't happen and BECAUSE it's early. Too much time left for things to play out, gringo.
If LSU is able to replace the leadership we lost on defense, we will be a bcs bowl team for sure. Our defense was young last year and most of last years team is back. Our offensive line is an experienced group. They are well coached, fast, quick off the ball and very strong. Our running backs are powerful and fast. Behind that offensive line , they will not disapoint. Our largest question is the passing game. If we can have a consistant passing game equal to the cotton bowl performance of last year, LSU will be damn hard to beat. If we can throw for two hundred yards a game and throw more td passes than interceptions we will dominate every team we play. I hope this offensive co mess going on doesn't screw our season up. I have faith in Miles. I just hope he continues to play to win. His going for it on fourth down and running the trick plays are a hallmark of LSU football now. We win the close games because Miles determination to win rubs off on his team. Watch out boys , the big game is in our backyard and we don't lose championships at home.
