Well, no sense in bitching about Oregon being ranked ahead of us in this poll. We'll take care of that sh*t on September 3rd. :tigereye:
8/12 SEC Teams in Top 25? Not too shabby. 5/10 B12 5/12 B10 2/8 MWC 2/12 Pac12 2/12 ACC 1/1 Independent (B$ Ranking)
The good news is that both LSU and Oregon are top 5 which makes this matchup that much bigger! 8 SEC teams ranked is pretty crazy...and also a sign people respect our conference.
compare to how previous preseason top 5's in the coaches poll did. only 10 of 25 (40.0%) ended up in the top 5 in the final coaches poll 2010 1. Bama (finished #11) 2. Ohio State (finished #5) 3. Florida (finished 8-5 and NR) 4. Texas (finished 5-7 and NR) 5. Boise St (finished #7) 2009 1. Florida (finished #3) 2. Texas (finished #2) 3. Oklahoma (finished 8-5 and NR) 4. USC (finished #20) 5. Actually playing 6 ranked teams is the same gauntlet of stiff competition that we had to walk through last year... 8/28/10 AP Poll + How many ranked teams are on their 2010 Schedule: 1. Alabama - 5 ranked teams 2 Ohio State- 4 ranked teams 3 Boise State - 2 ranked teams 4 Florida - 4 ranked teams 5 Texas - 2 ranked teams 6 TCU - 1 ranked team #21 LSU - 6 ranked teams Arguably this years schedule is much tougher though with us playing #3 Oregon and a tough road game at WV. Not to mention the SEC beasts. Here's looking forward to a Towson or two in the years to come!
