I would imagine that if the HC and OC can't agree on who the starting QB should be that they wouldn't be coaching together long. I don't think that is something that happens often on a staff that is on the same page. You guys are imagining problems that don't now and may not exist. Things must be good in Tiger country.
I'm just trying to figure out if there has ever been an instance where the head coach didn't decide who the starting QB is or was. Either way I definitely don't see it as a problem.
I think we all agree that Orgeron is going to delegate offensive responibilities to Canada, Defensive to Aranda, they will have autonomy. I'm also sure he will have Canada's input on the QB role I just think at the end of the day O will decide who the starting QB is.
i think most head coaches will consult with his OC and give his input on personnel issues but leave it up to the OC to make the choice... unless, of course, if they disagree on the starter then i would think the HC would overrule the OC...
So you think it was Major Applewhite who chose Greg Ward? Lane Kiffin that chose Jalen Hurts? Whomever Ohio State's OC that chose JT Barrett? Dabo's OC that chose Watson? Freeze's OC that chose Chad Kelly then chose Patterson when Kelly went down? Mullen's OC that chose Fitzgerald?
I would bet that 99.9% of the time, the OC and head coach agree on who the starting QB should be and no one person has to make the decision. I would also bet that defensive minded HC's would defer to the OC in most cases where there is a difference of opinion.
Who knew? @shane0911 and @tirk don't tell me shit. http://tigerfan.com/threads/matt-ca...be-mix-of-talent-youth-seccountry-com.132600/
