Yes, good point. I don't mean to knock the offense. Of course, if you subtract all the points the defense scored this year, consider all the extra minutes the offense gets the ball because the other team is 3 and out and all the great field position because of the defense....well.

Makes sense to focus on recruiting the best defensive players. LSU has had an excellent decade with only competent QBing.

We've played through so much adversity this year and have won so many away/neutral site games that having the pigs at home and the BCS game essentially a home game that I feel comfortable believing that as long as our players take it ONE IMPORTANT GAME AT A TIME that we will be just fine. If we finish undefeated I believe this would have to be considered as tough of a schedule as any championship squad has ever had to go through. But the most important thing is to take it one game at a time and don't worry about anything else but playing our best.

    Yeah, you're probably right.

If LSU isn't #1, then we'll never ever be preseason #1.

The Georgia game will essentially be a road game. That blows.

But I agree, no excuses losing to an inferior team like Georgia.

I think the best point in the original post was the fact that, if we lose a game, we won't be considered for the NC game and that is totally unfair. We've played the toughest teams in the nation and beaten them. We've been No. 1 for about 6 weeks or so, so we get everyone's best shot. Every other one loss team is being considered for the NC game, so why shouldn't we? Our body of work speaks for itself.

However, let's just not chance it. Let's go ahead and win them all and remove all doubt.

I think it sucks that Bama will get a pass, but there ain't nuttin' we can do about it now but win, win, win no matter what! Another poster talked about how JJ seems to be improving and I agree. With +/- 40 days to prepare for the NC game, should we make it, I think CLM can whip up a winning game plan for the Bama boys.

Heck, little Georgia Southern put 21 on Bama and exploited them with the option. I think we will learn from that and put it on them in grand fashion the second time around. The only thing better than beating Bama is beating them twice in one year.

All of u whinging about Bama's "pass" have only one damned option. LSU could have lost that contest in Tuscaloosa. Now quit all of the bitchin' and let's move forward.

I believe it is nine straight weeks. One has to believe being number one so long does a lot for LSU's national status and recruiting. Being on national TV doesnt hurt either.

Opening the season with Oregon probably bought LSU a lot of respect from the West Coast writers.

The respect really kicked in after we hammered Oregon. Even to this day, the Oregon writers aren't going anywhere near disrespecting us after that game, and they have mostly quieted their complaints about SEC bias as well, at least in the PNW.
