LSU moved up 3 spots in the Coaches Poll to #8, and moved up 1 spot in the AP Poll to #8... that is all.
This is good. We are nicely positioned to be where we need to be if we go undefeated or only lose one game.
Taking care of Auburn in similar fashion to what we've done the last 2 wks and then beating UGA @ home should solidify us a nice spot inside or around #6 in the nation. And honestly the only 2 games imo that will or should be "games" for us is Bama and aTm... Florida has a nice defense but their Offense resembles what we had in '08... This season has a real potential for us to get in to the Top 2 or 3 spot if we play to our potential, and take over as #1 if we handle business and win the SEC.
For the AU and Florida games, I predict 2011-style beatdowns. UGA is still an enigma. I think our offense will give their defense many problems--but we may struggle with their offense. It could be a shootout.
I honestly think our DBs can keep them from breaking the big pass plays, but Gurley scares me if our LBs can't learn to tackle better. Dude has a serious low center of gravity and seems almost impossible to bring down head to head.
This will be a high scoring game and gurley/whatever that qb's name is will probably have a very good day if our D doesn't get their feces in sequence.
Not to be a negative nancy, but Our pass defense is pretty bad, and our line doesnt seem to get much pressure on the qb. There is very little lsu cold do to stop an air attack of a team or a well balanced one , like clemson
I think when the time comes, the Tiger defense will stiffen up when it needs to. Still a bit young but their coming around.
It is not even funny how much I've NOT followed other programs in the last two years so have no clue what to expect. Is Auburn even ranked?
