CFN's top four after week one... (1) Alabama (2) Florida State (3) Oregon (4) LSU Last Week: W, TCU, 37-27 Why The Ranking Should Be Higher: The Tigers were led by their offense, hardly the kind of occurrence that folks around Baton Rouge are accustomed to. In fact, LSU outgained a solid TCU team, 448-259, in a game that would have been more comfortable had it not been for special teams breakdowns. Why The Ranking Should Be Lower: Not a ton to complain about, considering the opponent, but the Tigers did have trouble with Horned Frog B.J. Catalon. While I think we deserve to be in the conversation b/c of our player and coaching talent, this is just the first game of the season. Lots of football left. I think we will be in contention at the end, but I am trying to remain somewhat cautious about being too giddy after just one game.
If Clemson goes undefeated it means they will have beaten Gawga, Clowney and company and the fighting Jimbos. That schedule allows them to jump the winner of the Duck/Tree bowl to face the SEC champ for the final BCSNC IMO.
Right there is where your whole premise falls apart. Here you mention an offensive state and then compare it to an entire team. VT has a bad offense. VT has a good defense.
I like Tiger Tap's fervor, and his comparison to last year is apt, but I tend to agree with you. The reigning natty champ should be #1 until they are knocked off. But I believe that's finally coming. This just may be a down year for Aunt Flo (crimson tide, for you slow people).
So good that they should have held the Tide to 200 yards? And to make you guys punt NINE times? Come on, Terry...
