closed the gap on Notre Dame and nearly jumped to #7 FSU dropped down 2 spots on an idle week 1. Ohio State 2. Michigan State 3. TCU 4. Baylor 5. Ole Miss 6. Georgia 7. Notre Dame 8. LSU 9. FSU 10. UCLA 11. Clemson 12. Utah 13. Alabama 14. Oklahoma 15. Texas A&M Utah the big mover, 5 spots. Florida enters at #23. MSU #22.
Yeah, I hated to pull for Florida yesterday, but it helps our strength of schedule and hurts Alabama for Tennessee to lose.
So...with Oregon getting emasculated by Utah last night, does Michigan State really belong at #2? That #2 ranking is on the merit of that one "quality" win over Oregon, and they struggled more with their directional school yesterday than we did with Syracuse. Acutally, the media wasn't mentioning us having "struggled," it was all about Fournette again--that's going to be the narrative of the season for us, and I'm more than happy with that. Also, TCU is a definite pretender at #3. Their fall will come, and Baylor's will, too. I think OU will reassert their dominance in the Big 12 this season, toppling both of those Texas private schools.
Excellent points as always, Stacey. I like how the narrative of our game yesterday is focused on Fournette (quite frankly, as it should be), and not on the sloppy aspects that us fans are nitpicking to death.
I tried to pull for Florida (just threw up in my mouth a little) but I just couldn't do it. If we win our games, sos won't be an issue.
