Having listened to to the Herbstreit and Fitzsimmons podcast (since it launched this season, a "reunion" if you will) that's not been my impression, at all. (That goes for a few of the college football, ESPN podcast.) While there are different opinions voiced, the conversations don't resemble the type of interaction you've witnessed with Kannell, Galloway, et. al. I kid you not, his podcast along with ones like Campus Connections are strictly content sans the opening commercial. I find them great for my daily bike rides, etc.
That's a very myopic view. A touchdown, or two, lead for LSU the last two years is the farthest thing from a "huge lead" as one can get. Two years ago your defense was giving up a little over three touchdowns a game as it was. Mississippi State has had some decent offenses the last couple of years as well. Two years ago they were putting up close to 475 a game as I recall. And you're suggesting "huge lead." We don't see that the same way, at all.
For a Les Miles coached team, 2 TD lead by half is huge. lol. I mean, thats kinda my point mayne. I mean, anyone can go look at the stats. Fitz put up numbers vs the nobodies and looked like Harris vs a D with a pulse. Based on our talent and D coaching, MSU should not be "expected" to score 2 TD's on our D unless we turn the ball over more than once and our O can't muster any drives. I just find that to be in severe doubt with our talent and new philosophy on O given that Canada, again, has said he will call plays based on what the D shows. We have no reason to NOT take him for his word. Further, there is just always that chance we lose to a lesser team. Maybe, but given the fact that LSU has been absolutely pedestrian for the past 5 years, this should not be a concern as the entire point to firing Les Miles was to "re-assert" our dominance. Just my two cents.
