I get your sentiment, but I also know how Chatt and BYU were described here and it wasn't "supreme power" by any stretch of the imagination. Based on what I've read, it's not about Miles but the unknown with Orgeron. You aren't the only one thinking this way. While I realize there are a lot here that don't care for Herbie and his opinions, but he's stated he thinks LSU is looking at an upset this weekend. Here's the link to the podcast with Herbie and Ian If you think about the last three years or so there's a loss there along with two very close games.
Its all based on the Les Miles hangover they have. Everybody thinks its going to be close because its been close lately. But we as Tiger fans realize and acknowledge that that is due to Miles game plan of playing not to lose. I think he got off on losing by made and missed FG's.
It might have been an upset if Herbie didn't open his mouth and give LSU some bulletin board material. He just killed any chance State had of sneaking up on LSU. But we all know Kirk doesn't really believe State will win. ESPN pays him well to be provocative and make these foolish predictions to add viewers and clicks on the web. It turned social media into a frenzy just like ESPN planned. This is no different than when shots are fired at Alabama just to cause a shit storm.
Last year shouldn't have even been close except for Miles took his foot of the gas and let the air out of the football. I get what you're saying but when viewing a historical perspective you have to discount factors that are no longer present, i.e. the Les Miles factor. Granted the Oeaux factor in the same situation is at this time unknown but I'm thinking however he approaches it has to be an improvement.
No, but we KNOW what our D does year over year. Only LSU fans have noticed the play calling differences. The media just looks at box scored. Nah, we are tempered to expect close games. 4 yards and a cloud of dust didn't leave much room for error. Yea well hes a cuck and salty. Not really. The last two years we got out to huge leads by half time and stopped playing.
