I've heard many basketball players called ball hogs. I think this is the first time I've ever heard one called a non ball hog. I wonder what the story is here.
There was a piece done on him prior to the OU game where they interviewed his dad, and others. He really has a point guard mentality of distributing the ball, but he was always the biggest kid playing and was expected to play down in the post. He and his dad refused that, and he continued in his desired role as a distributor who could also score/finish. It's his mentality, and it's been successful thus far. This experience right now that is being critiqued is a blip in the radar in his career. He'll continue to be a distributor, but as he matures, he'll learn to become more dominant, too. 5 years from now, not 5 weeks from now.
