This is the kind of negative, knee jerking speculation that is so over-reactionary. It's human nature for many to speculate the worst, but you could make comments like that in any aspect of life. Good thing Duke didn't feel that way about Coach K two years into his tenure. You say many are not being honest w/yourselves. I tend to be the opposite of you and not feel the sky is falling after every negative outcome. I could be regarded as being too positive, but over a longer stretch of time, I will acknowledge patterns of flaws/outcomes and not just remain positive to be positive. I kind of jumped on dolomite about his initial comment, but then he expanded on that and the concerns he expressed seem legitimate. I am sure some of your concerns are legitimate, too, but keep it in perspective. It's just as likely that CJJs teams will finish w/20 win seasons and tourney appearances, as it is that it would spiral out of control. He coached at a small school in No. TX and the first 4 years were mediocre. Probably tougher to win quickly there, I would imagine. By his 5th year, he had things turned around, and the next 6 were all 20 win seasons w/tourney appearances mixed in. Not easy to do there, and I don't think he'll have 4-5 years here due to such high expectations of our fan base. But he's in his second year. Give him a chance. While frustrated w/their inconsistencies on the road, overall, when you consider multiple aspects of the program, I am very pleasantly surprised w/CJJ as our coach. I am personally willing to give him a few years, not months or games, but a few years to get it turned around. If, in the interim, the team "spirals out of control", then you recognize those facts as they occur and make a move sooner to change the program.
I just want to see sound fundamental defense on the road for once. That's the first step. If Arkansas pushes much past 75, it is likely another loss.
Defense...........it seems they wait EVERY game to press well into the second half. 3 point defense is horrible.
I have wondered at times what JJ is thinking.............no one wants him to succeed more than me!!! They almost never play 2 full halves of BB. Bad thing is the decent players never stay 4 years.
Hey LSU won at home again. Yay. LSU 12-2 at home and 4-7 on the road. LSU now forced to win all of it's games plus 1 of the 2 tough road games (Kentucky or Florida) and then probably win a couple of SECT games in order to get into the NCAAs with a 22-11 record (11-7 SEC).
