Voted for #2. Loved it so much I made it my new avatar. Here's the deal. Our official logo doesn't necessarily have to be "fierce" or "scary." The words I would want it to convey are timeless, bold, iconic, instantly recognizable. The logo to our left, or the logo on our football helmets, would do the job. Kinda like these examples
The problem is that LSU's logo has always been fierce and scary. It went from a tiger to a cat. You can't go from hot to cold, and that's what a lot of fans were bothered by. If this were Illinois or Michigan or Ohio State or Oklahoma or Cal or Virginia Tech or Wake Forest or Rutgers, where a letter or school name was the most prominent mascot, it would be different. But this is LSU and the tiger on the side of the helmet is fierce and scary, and that's the way it should be. If anything, toonces is a disrespect to the Mikes who have come and gone.
