Some day or some night, somewhere, some year, somebody wearing a maroon helmet is going to have to make a play that really matters.

An example? Here's the best one. Four minutes into the second quarter, State's down 6-0 - two field goals - but is driving at the LSU 36, facing third down and one yard to go. LSU crowds the line, seemingly expecting a running play, but State goes for it all. Chris Relf fakes a handoff into the line, pulls the ball back and looks down the field where wide receiver Arceto Clark, a converted defensive back, is streaking down the field with one-on-one coverage from LSU's stellar cornerback Patrick Peterson.

Relf throws a beautiful spiral down the field, essentially putting the ball up for grabs between Clark and Peterson. A play is there to be made.

Peterson made it, batting the ball into the air, then catching it, then returning it 46 yards to the LSU 48. A few plays later, LSU kicked a third field goal to lead 9-0. It was a huge change of momentum.

Again, a play was there.
