Bama has excellent LBs again and a solid DL. They are a bit suspect at CB and on the backend. If the OL can play to potential, which they havent come close outside of the UF game then LSU has a real shot. Like I said before, LSU is the only team who can match both physcality and athletcism with Bama. The OL must create holes for Hill and the RBs to consistently gain 3-5 yards. If not Saban will devise a gameplan to contain the passing game. Mett must heal up or get out of this funk, whichever is the case for LSU to win.

The D will also have to have their communication down. We cant beat ourselves in any facet here. We MUST sure up that piss poor tackling.

I think both of those things can be addressed but will they? We havent seen any improvement or consistency all year. The staff has a full week to heal and come up with a strong gameplan. Win or lose I just hope the coaches finally do their job and get through to the kids. I hope we have that focus. I just want to see LSU football.

A win at Bama this year would be bigger than the bowl we are likely headed for. But that's far different from Ole Miss, who is never in the title picture and sees us as their bowl game every year.

Bama will be a 11-12 point favorite I suppose. All of you certain of the outcome get to retire early. Just how sure are you.

I can't figure out where you stand. In the other Bama/LSU thread, you asked why the hell we have doubters of LSU beating Bama in 2 weeks.

I never asked why there are doubters, I was just pointing out reasons I don't think it's gonna be a drumming like most of you guys are predicting, and ways LSU can win that game. I also said just personally I can't ever pick against LSU during the season. It was hard enough for me to pick Georgia beating LSU before the season started.
I could never pick Alabama in a game against us. No matter how much better they are.

Which brings me to why I agree with thread title. We are to Bama what Ole Miss is to us, historically speaking. If you go by wins and losses its relatively close, we have alot more wins against Ole Miss, Alabama alot more than us. Ole Miss hates LSU, LSU doesn't like Ole Miss, but hates Alabama. Alabama doesn't like LSU, but hates Auburn.

No doubt, ... all of us LSU fans are scheming of how "we can win". And .. of course, we can win the game. The talent is there. The plays 'exists". Lady Luck is always lurking around.

But ... on it's face value, this team has not shown the consistent performance that is indicative of a championship caliber team. They were talking about OSU last night ... ok, that have "a win" that looked great, but can they "consistently" go out and do that.

I agree .... we HATE Bama. But .. I think just about every team hates Bama these days, but, especially teams like LSU who are contenders for the SEC championship or NCG. OM doesn't hate Bama as much .... because OM isn't a contender. That frees them up to hate someone else .... like us. AR hates LSU even more than OM ... which is funny, given that it is OM who held/hold's the attitude that AR shouldn't even be in the SEC. You'd think AR would hate OM more than LSU, but they don't. You'd think AR would hate Bama more than LSU .. but they root for Bama to beat LSU everytime.

Strangely ... It seems to me that LSU is the most hated team in the SEC. I don't get it ... really, you'd think that LSU would get a little sympathy being as they are the only team that consistently beats Bama in the last few years. .... oh well.

Bama has won the last 2 against us. We won the last 2 previously against them. It's not the end of the world. We had them last year at home and blew it. Bama knew they were lucky to escape Tiger Stadium with a win and they were drained the next game against Texas A&M. They know they will be getting a fired up team sick of them winning. Our team doesn't have anything to lose and they have everything to lose. They don't like playing this game this late in the season. It will be a heck of a game and it will come down to the wire like usual. We are not Ole Miss, y'all need some Prozac.

No. None will put their money where their certainty is.
