I don't want to wait for Alleva - fire now. Why not? Some folks have been saying if we fire O in January 2018 the buyout is down to something like 5 million or 3 million. That doesn't seem to jive with what's been reported, but if true that wouldn't be so hard to stomach if O doesn't win again. I still hope O can make improvements, I just don't see how.
Saw this one today. Not certain if we really care about the opinion of Greg McElroy, but here it is: https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/l...ff-following-humiliating-performance-vs-troy/ Not a lot of platitudes for our Tigers right now, and deservedly so. This team better turn things around, and fast. I would like to think that being called "soft" will motivate this team to prove the critics wrong. If they have any pride, they will come out angry, with a chip on their shoulder, and with something to prove.
I'm on campus all this week and there are lots of rumors of bickering going on between the coaches on the staff, between players and even between players and coaches. No specifics but if true, that does not bode well. It may get a whole lot worse before it gets better.
My sisters neighbor's Son is a walk-on O-Linemen (He doesn't see the field and I'll keep his name out of it at least until he graduates) but he said the same thing. The chemistry in the locker room is in shambles. Oh and by the way, he is a HUGE coach Grimes supporter. He and I have argued over him for 2 years now, but he loves the guy and says the rest of the linemen do as well.
For what it's worth, Christian LaCouture defends Coach O: http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_07a907a8-a7b4-11e7-830f-e787e8ce10eb.html
