It was a Chavis defense. It gives up some yardage but it's hard to score against. LSU is #7 in the nation in scoring defense at 12.3 points a game. LSU is #4 in red zone defense. Bama is #46 in red zone offense. I like that matchup.
Yeah I was expecting negative points. I think Stacey gave a good reasoning. I know we didnt allow any points. It was a great all around game. Im just saying I was a lil disappointed with how easily Tulane moved the ball on the D, which had been pretty stout. Most of the Tulane drives stalled because of their own mistakes, which is great. Im feeling very good going into the Bama game, I think Stacey was pretty spot on that the D was scaled down a bit to prevent injuries.
 Proper conditioning, going 100% on every play, and luck go a long way to preventing injuries. I'm not sure that the defensive game plan has resulted in one less or one more injury.
If they went all out then the D didnt look too impressive. Yes they didnt score but Tulane moved the ball pretty consistently. Their QB completed a very high percentage, which should never happen.
Phenom...to me, it seems that the D has been this way all season. Bend, but don't break. They played a great game against AU, but the rest of the games played out with a bend but don't break style. Look at UF. We couldn't keep them off the field, but they only had one offensive TD...and it was off an offensive holding penalty that went uncalled. - The D is the least of my concerns headed into the Bama game. The D is definitely the strong point of this team...and seems to get better every week.
Griffin completed 21 of 29 for 163 yards. He had to throw because Tulane couldn't move the ball against us on the ground. I can live with holding Tulane to 216 total yards.
