LSU has a legitimate shot at landing 7 of the top 17 receivers based on scout.com's ratings #1 Tolliver #3 Thompson #7 Byrd #9 Brooks #10 Benton #16 Bryant #17 Mason We got commits from Brooks and Benton. We look great for Tolliver. I hope we pick up Byrd, since he is JUCO and can contribute right away. Thompson would be a great get. We have good shots at Byrd and Bryant. On Rivals: #4 Tolliver #6 Benton #7 Thompson #9 Bryant Brooks listed as #9 Athlete Mason listed as 2 star Look for LSU to run plenty of 5 wideout formations under the Crowton regime.
Thompson did not mention us in his latest list of favorites. He should no longer be considered. I'm really curious to see what will happen with Rashad Mason... I think things could get interesting with him at the end.
here's a quote from FSU commit Brian Coulter In addition to Coulter, the Seminole coaches also checked in on Pear River teammate, three-star wide receiver Demetrius Byrd. "He was looking at LSU, but Jimbo left and he hasn't talked to their Head Coach," said Coulter. "He felt more love from FSU."
Byrd's official visit is this weekend, we may push for his commitment then, but I think we haven't because we don't want another 5 star WR commited when we are still trying to get Toliver to commit.
Yes there is a method to the madnees with our WR recruits this year. Tolliver taking so long to commit nd a few of our other guys having some grade problems has us looking at all kinds of scenario's. Byrd is the fallback guy for Toliver, although we would take him regardless. Like Cparso said we don't want him commiting before Toliver. Mason is the fallback guy in case one of the other commits isn't going to qualify or if we can't get Byrd.
