Yes. Absolutely. Even if they only know 5 plays each, as long as they don't average 2 turnovers per game, put them in over Lee.
Lee had years to throw....lack of time wasn't the issue. With that said, I still don't want him to transfer...we're too thin at QB.
Yes, Lee made a lot of mistakes that lead to several of our losses. That said, anyone who is so upset that they would want him to transfer and leave us in the same situation as last season, has no understanding of the game. Lee will be just fine this yr as the #2 Qb, and when needed will have great performances. Just like he did when he stepped into the Auburn game.
We have absolutely zero proven talent behind Jefferson and Lee. This was LSU last year, too. A lot of his passes were touchdowns, too. He certainly did have a strong arm and he passed us back into the Auburn game with pinpoint passing. Lee had a 53% completion average to Jefferson's 49%. Lee had a 66-yard pass, Jefferson had a 41-yard long pass. Lee had a 116 efficiency rating to Jefferson's 112. Lee was sacked 8 times in 11 games, Jefferson was sacked 9 times in only 7 games. Lee had 13 yards per completion, Jefferson had 11.6. If not for the 16 interceptions, Lee would have had a good year for a freshman who started the year as the third-team QB. Interceptions are a problem that coaches can fix. Lee will be a different quarterback as a sophomore and LSU needs him. I don't think you have watched this here game very much, amigo.
I am convinced of 1 of 2 things, that either you have zero knowledge of the game or you are Lee himself. Only those two would be so hell bent on looking for compliments for Lee.
Well said. Think about this people.. Lee in '08: Was supposed to start the season as the #3 QB behind Perrilloux and Hatch. Perrilloux was an idiot, Hatch was a good guy but just didn't have what it took to be an SEC QB. Hatch gets hurt early in the season and bang.. your #3 Freshman QB becomes the starter. MUCH MUCH MUCH pressure.. trial by fire, yadda yadda yadda, it happens. Thankfully, the season ended on an up note and we seemingly found our starting QB. Side note: As far as the pick-6's go, he threw them.. yes. But it wasn't him alone that let every one of them run back for 6. The blame was not solely on him. Lee in '09: Now he's the #2 guy behind Jefferson. He's got almost a whole season of game experience under his belt. He's had all off-season to work on his decision making (which is exactly what killed him last season). He's going to get put in games with a lot less pressure on his shoulders this season. In an ideal situation, by the time he comes in we'll likely be ahead of the opponent. If we're not ahead, no big deal. He's pulled us out of a loss before. His job just got MAGNITUDES easier and now he'll have time to grow into what we recruited him for. I don't see him transferring. Like it or not, he's far from done IMHO. Besides, as mentioned previously.. we need him in that spot this season. Especially if he's still out there competing well against the talent we have in waiting. Just my thoughts, of course.
I'll be here to bring up this thread when Lee loses us yet another game this year. I heard the same crap 3 years ago when I told everyone Hester was going to be our feature back - everyone told me I was an idiot and he wouldn't touch the ball more than a couple times a game.
OK, you also said you thought Richard Murphy would be our #1 RB last year, not to mention you were blowin' your horn back then about your Hester prophecy too... want a cookie?
Well, all that being said by a bunch of good posters, it doesn't matter what we think...the only thing that matters is what Miles thinks. I trust him even though the new guy from da U doesn't.:hihi:.
