    Correct again.

Had LSU beaten Tennessee 31-14 and then Florida 26-14 (more indicative of the stat lines), LSU would be ranked no worse than 7 and pushing TCU and OU for 5th/6th.

"It wouldn't be inaccurate to assume that I couldn't exactly not say that it is or isn't almost partially incorrect. On the contrary. I'm possibly more or less not definitely rejecting the idea that in no way with any amount of uncertainty that I undeniably do or do not know where he shouldn't probably be, if that indeed wasn't where he isn't. Even if he wasn't at where I knew he was." -- Pinnochio

    That's a troubling quote, however.

Yeah .. if you consider Style Points to be correlated with "star appeal". I mean just look at it.

Ohio State ... T Pryor [or whatever his name is]
Alabama ... the Ingram, Richardson, and I've never lost a game Mcelroy.
Auburn ... the godly Cam Newton

Then of course .. there's BSU and TCU, who just get a lot of media talk because they've been undefeated against a bunch of nobodys and played a few good bowl games. Then there is Oregon, who is a good team and deserves to be ranked high, but who doesn't play many good teams to prove it. ..but hey . .they beat USC .. and beating USC in the Media's eyes is all that is needed.

Then of course .. there's OU ... who in the Media's eyes is OU, and that is all that need be said.

It's what I LUV about this LSU team. There are no "stars" ... nobody who gives the meatheads at ESPN "tinggly feelings running up and down their legs". LSU is just a good "team" comming together.

Maybe we should put Brittany Spears or Lindsey Lohan on the team as third string place holder or something .. bet we'd get ranked higher then! :hihi:

PP was looking to run before he had the ball. It happens. Been there and done that. I thought the ST play was going to be the difference in this game - didn't believe it was going to bite us before the FG play.

It is like the ole days the week we played Bama - He'd say they finally put it together.

I don't think that has much to do with it, honestly. I think it's more about brand names in college, and that includes sexy up-and-comers Boise and TCU. LSU is a solid brand, but it's not OSU or Oklahoma or Alabama, and maybe by extension, not even Nebraska or Auburn. I do think players help build up the brand, but often times it is retroactive.

But, then there is Oregon, whose best known player isn't on the team any more. Maybe the goofy uniforms give them a little extra caché. I don't really know how to explain Oregon's rise, except that they score tons of points and voters usually like that.

LSU has been on national TV every week. They have had ample opportunity to impress, but observers will have a hard time forgetting how close they came to three losses. Long way to go, though, and they'll have more chances to show off.

If only we got a chance to somehow prove we were better than Auburn and Alabama. Surely, they'll have to give us the opportunity to move ahead of these teams at some point right? I mean the season's already half over! At this rate, we'll never get to prove we are better than those two teams!

    /sarcasm

Like has already been stated, if we win the SEC, it doesn't matter. I could give a rat's ass where Oregon or TCU are ranked right now.
