Get out of here with those factual statements. I've warned you about this before, but you insist on shoehorning truth into every alarmist thread on TF. It won't do. It just won't do. Logic and facts have no place here.
I think that is only part of the problem. The offense clearly gets very, very conservative in the second half when we have a lead. Granted that may be the best strategy with our current 2-headed monster at QB but all the three and outs just kills our defense. I believe it's the conservative play that allows teams to drive down the field in the 4th quarter against our defense... they are gassed. If we didn't get so conservative, I don't think we would have all the last minute drama that we normally see. Of course, that would take all the fun out of it. :milesmic:
That's partly true, but Auburn moved ahead of LSU; Oregon moved ahead of Boise, TCU, Oklahoma, and Nebraska; Nebraska moved ahead of TCU and Oklahoma. None of those teams have lost a game, but some have looked better/worse in the process. If LSU had looked a little better, they would be ahead of Alabama right now (like Auburn is). Not that it makes any difference for those teams, but the human polls are inherently subjective, and so 'style' makes a difference.
style clearly makes a difference. Todd Blackledge was saying something about that during the game, he said that it's very, very unusual for an SEC team with LSU's track record to be undefeated through week 5 and not be in the top 10. I think that may have happened with Auburn last year though.
I guess you could say special teams for Florida since the kickoff return and PP's fumble both cost us 7 points.
Correct. Again, that was special teams and would be more concerned had it been a running back instead. We can correct that mistake on special teams easily. I don't see us fumbling another punt the rest of the season.
