Should LSU allow kids to keep sliding down the Indian Mounds?

God forbid they ever decide to scrap the enchanted forest in favor of another poorly constructed, highly overpriced apartment complex. That will cause at least as many threads as the indian mounds.

I hadn’t thought about the Indian Mounds in years. Let the kids play. Hell, I played on them almost every weekday from 1952 to 1955 when I walked with my Mom to the old LSU Post Office. I’m sure there were many others before me. Then I remember one memorable night in 1975 with a lady named … well I’m married now so we won’t go there.
    Let the kids play.

This one even has a nice, shiny poll. :D

Seriously, I was going to just 'reply' in the other thread, but you can't add a poll to a reply.

I think they should be preserved, and i don't think cars should be allowed on them, and i don't think people should be allowed to perch on them, and squat, but i don't have a problem if little kids want to go to the top to slide off of them. I think that is like shooting Godzilla with a bb gun.

I'm not sure whether or not the kids do damage to the Indian Mounds, but if the university doesn't want kids sliding down them, then what's the big deal? Of course, my daughter also probably shouldn't have been trying to climb a crepe myrtle on the parade grounds with Crip's two older daughters last year, either. Oops...kids will be kids.

it's not really that big of a deal, it's just something i remember enjoying when i was a kid, all i am saying is that it is hard for me to imagine that kids sliding down them make any significant impact. If they want to shut it off, i have no problem with it.

Oh this is great . . . mods can't vote in polls. The new system has locked us out.

Put a FENCE around it, a plaque with a Native American image on it and some lunacy that it's exactly 6000 yrs. old. Soon, someone should bring a picnic table and a community garbage can, we're talking "historical site." People will now come from miles around, even in the off season, to stare at these tetons of long ago.

I tend to over simplify things…but couldn’t we just throw some dirt on the mounds every year if we are worried about the wear and tear?

On a side note…how many of y’all have gotten lucky on the top of that bad boy?
