Hope you find the Preview written by our own By Jess Nicholas, TideFans.com Editor-in-Chief to your liking. Jess is far from being a homer and writes some of the better Preview articles. Prior to Nick Saban’s arrival at LSU at the turn of the century, many Alabama fans looked at LSU the way many people view a traveling circus: The sideshows were often more entertaining than the main event. How else to explain how LSU would often psych itself out of nearly every Alabama game in Baton Rouge dating back to the 1960s? Or how LSU would so often be on the cusp of greatness only to have it end like it did for one particular Curley Hallman-coached team against Auburn? Saban changed those attitudes. Now, LSU is hoping they aren’t changing back. For the full story: Mash here
It's true and to tell you the truth, it's kind of nice. We have really nothing to lose in this game. Sure, a win will keep us in the race but, unless Bama falls to pieces after if we should beat them, then they are still in the SEC champ game. I look foward to have a chance to witness, in person, LSU beating a #1 at home. Hell, if it happens, what are the odds the goal post come down?
Jess' analysis of SEC football is among the best around. I thought he was crazy when he pronounced Mississippi State's defense to be better than LSU's earlier this season, but halfway through the season, State is ahead of LSU in total and scoring defense. This is a very good team analysis. When Jess talks about SEC football, he's telling you what he knows. :thumb: But when he's making social comments about LSU and its fans, . . . he's telling you what he thinks. :dis: But he's writing for his home crowd, of course. Don't let it put you off of some very good analysis of this game.
Agree. We should be past the point in the program where beating Bama (or anyone else for that matter) should warrant rushing the field.
They won't come down, if they couldn't get to them for the 2001 AU game that put us in the SECCG, they are certaininly not going to get to them should they rush the field this week. It's absurd to think we should try too. I agree, we are better than that now. On a side note, the last time time a goalpost came down in Tiger Stadium was 2000 Bama game... only the north endzone though.
The only grease needed this saturday will be the grease bama needs to take a long hard one up the chute! They are gonna need it and damn it, I need it!!! Im surrounded by gumps on a daily basis and I am sick and tired of listening to their blithering spew. Actually, forget the grease. Give it to em hard and dry and make their ears bleed!
