I don't know if this has been posted yet or not, (if it has a moderator can merge or delete it), but I just got this pic in an email and thought I'd share.
Gotta love those damn engineers, lol. When I was there in 03 and we had to convoy from Tikrit to Kuwait for our flight out in March, I had my window flag tapped to the side mirror of my HMMWV. My first sergeant threw a fit and said I couldn't have it "displayed". What a bummer, well not really, because I didn't take it down. There was also a HUGE LSU flag flying over one of Saddams palaces in downtown Tikrit at the time as well. I tracked the guy down and if I remember right he was a JAG officer from BR. When I went back in 05 I had the mechanics make a flag pole and I flew one over my hootch. The Tigers are always represented in the sandbox.
My kid called me from Okinawa (Marine)...and had a cow over the game. Kickoff was like 9AM over there! :geauxtige:usaflagwa:laflagwav:LSU231::thumb:
Them boys and girls are from your Louisiana National Guard! Louisianas Citisen Soldiers, Headquartered in Baton Rouge LA. This is who they are and what they do! http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/agency/army/769eng.htm
Yes and it was more than just a pic, one channel did an interview and the soldiers did a Tiger cheer. Was good to see and hear some local Tigers get to celebrate the victory even though they are far away and have very important business to take care of. "The Battalion Headquarters is located in Baton Rouge and has subordinate units located in Baker, Gonzales, and Marksville. Headquarters Support Company is co-located with Headquarters in Baton Rouge, LA." Proud to say I was a member but that seems like generations ago. GEAUX 769th !!!!!!!!
