All along I've thought that he was coming to Texas, but this makes me almost sure that he's going to LSU. http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=374449 It also confirms that Perrilloux's end of January official to LSU is on once again. There's a lot to read into this though. This could be both Dauterive and Perrilloux looking for more attention and wanting to get their names back out in the news. We've seen this happen before, so it would not totally surprise me. It's also tough for me to believe that after a +2 hour meeting with a coach that they could seem so sold on him. I think a lot of this comes from Vince Young's Rose Bowl performance that really set himself as the starter for the remainder of his stay at Texas. Perrilloux now knows for sure that he would have to come in and sit the bench at Texas for a year at least and probably two years while he could stay at home at LSU and compete for the starting job (and possibly win it) in his true freshman year. Like I said, I'm starting to think that Perrilloux is headed to LSU now. If it happens, congrats. And for those of you who said that "Perrilloux is a headcase" and "I didn't want a guy like him anyway" (and there were a lot of those) when he committed to Texas...I'm sure you'll keep saying that you don't want him now.
"I brought Ryan, his momma and his sister up there and we really like him," East St. John head coach Larry Dauterive said. "He is the real deal man. You can't help but like him and he is going to be accessible to coaches, the media. He is one of us man. He is just a guy you are comfortable with."
While Vince Young's Rose Bowl performance probably made Ryan P. think about Texas' QB situation, that isn't a big deal for Ryan P in my opinion because look at what Jamarcus did in the Bowl Game. The article also quoted Perilloux's coach saying, "Texas has something to worry about."
One other point of note in LSU's favor- Texas Recruiting Coo. and RB coach is leaving for ND and he had a sizeable hand in bringing in RP. Keeps looking better for LSU. Miles is a run first type of guy and having no QB's in our stable with running ability must make RP feel good about his chances. Also, with the new coach coming in and no QB benifiting from knowing the system, anything that Russell and Flynn did this year is a wash as Miles will evaluate and play the best player.
this reminds me of Sabans first year and QB1, QB1A. Rohan Davey vs Josh Booty I just hope we have a solid choice this time around, I had enough of a 2 QB system this year. If Perrilloux does come that will be great and should sure it up for next year
I read quite a bit and try to stay on top of things, and I have never heard anyone say Ryan was a headcase. Everything I have read has been positive. Are these just sour grapes or am I missing something? Just like everyone, I am hoping he becomes a TIGER!!!!!!! Certainly we would win the SEC next year with him at the helm, (that's my guess, anyway).
Young's performance finally got it into Ryan's head that he will sit the bench at UT for 2 years. He was in extreme denial about this. Reality is finally setting in. Better late than never. Welcome to LSU young man!
I would be all for RP coming in here and red shirting his first year. That would make him a r/s freshman during Russell and Flynn's jr. year, and he could compete for the starting job with a year of learning under his belt. My favorite scenario woud be for Gary Crowton to come in and either coach qb's or become the OC, bring in RP and let him have a year to learn the system, and then let the games begin. This may cause Flynn or Russell to jump ship, but as long as we are winning I don't care.
DandyDon is reporting that RP solidified his commitment to Texas last night after an in home visit by TX OC Greg Davis. I think I'll just wait until signing date on this one.
yeah yeah ive heard a lot of **** about perriloux and his commitments to all these schools, im just wondering, where is everyone getting all their information about him from? yeah it would be sweet if perriloux went to lsu, but i mean, is that for real?
