I was watching the selection show when the Wisconsin players were sitting together waiting to see if they would be a top seed. When it was announced and they all stood up I could see at least 8 white players.
Just saw that former LSU player Ralston Turner is a starter for NC State. I'm surprised non of the preview sites have picked up on it yet. Edit: Looks like NOLA.com put up something about it yesterday.
Yeah, everybody seems to be aware on this end. I actually live on the outskirts of Raleigh, where NCSU is located. Have several friends and colleagues who are NCSU grads, so I'm hearing it already, cuz they all know I'm all-LSU and they are already trying to prod and jab. Good natured stuff. Folks here are great, not over-bearing. Have other things going on in their life, so aren't over consumed, but they are aware of Mr. Ralston Turner's former LSU connection. Not only is he a starter, but I believe he's their leading scorer and most reliable 3-pt guy.
Would have been nice had he stuck around. That's what this team is missing right now. The four year starter types that come up big in their senior years. See Daryl Mitchell for a great example
The last time LSU was a 9 seed I think we beat UAB maybe and then played North Carolina as a 1 seed and they beat us but the Tigers played a good game. I think UNC won it that year too, maybe I'm wrong.
The Marcus Thornton-led Tigers made a big run in the 2nd half to tie the #1 seed Tar Heels with less than 10 minutes to play. I thought we had them in that game
Gimpy Lawson killed us late w 3s. USB killed us by 30+ in Boise 2005 (wasted money on going to that one). 2009 was the w over butler I think.
