I've been sad since last night after watching the baseball team get whipped and the bball team miss so many free throws and point blank shots at the end of that game. Think I'll indulge tonight!

Damn Tigers should be playing Villanova today, not NC St. Tigers could have actually upset them. NCSt., not a chance.

Have been thinking about this for a few days. Kentucky has a basketball coach and a starting 5 along with another 5 they can bring in the game at any time if someone struggles. I have seen this in a few of their games when the starters struggle. Other teams can do the same but aren't as deep. LSU has 5 starters on this roster and that really is about it as far as contributors who make a difference, somewhat consistent. Yeah, we could talk about some starters that aren't consistent, a total new point. If they can build some depth looking into next year and year after things should be better, starters won't tire out or feel like they have to win the game because lets face it. On this team there weren't a lot of clutch guys down the stretch that could take over. I think though they should have went to Jerell Martin down the stretch but heck, he did miss the ball or the defender knocked it away from him in the second half.

This is going to be the knock on both Martin and Mickey. They will be turn over machines in the NBA if they ever make it out of the D league which I don't think they will. I really hope they come back for another year because they both desperately need it.

As for depth, Kentucky is the outlier. I don't know any other team with that sort of quality depth. Until the NBA creates a new CBA and flushes the one and done things won't ever change much.

Early projection is for both Martin and Mickey to go early in the second round. Only first round picks get guaranteed contracts.

Looks like I was wrong about that one! Since the second half of our game, they have stepped their game up and are playing great. Since LSU is out, and that will not change, I will be pulling for NC St., I suppose. No reason not to.

As far as JM2 go, maybe losing in first round of SECT and NCAAT will whet their appetites to come back.....that, and projected 2nd round picks. If so, next years team would have a nice blend of experience, and talented youth, and could be scary good! Maybe that combination would make CJJ seem like a better coach, LOL.

There has to be a graphic as to 2nd round and worse guys that make it in the NBA. It can't be many. Hell many of the guys that go in the 1st round are never heard from again. It absolutely baffles me that no one is getting this message across to these guys. I say that as if it isn't happening and forgetting the fact that no one thinks as highly of Jarel Martin as Jarel Martin et al so there is that.

New talent hits the NBA every season edging out a lot of last year's talent. It's important to go into the NBA with every advantage you can if you want to stick for a while, including more conditioning and more experience. Even Shaq didn't leave after his sophomore year and he was better for it.

Sure, but those are mostly the lottery picks. It seems like seldom is the guy taken past 20 that you ever really hear from again.

They mostly go to Europe, and have descent careers from what I understand. Some return to NBA more ready.
